Despite it still being six months away, I am already planning my sons second birthday party. The theme this year will be dinosaurs-probably all fakey, cartoony looking dinosaurs, nothing real.
Last year we did a monkey birthday theme and it turned out really well. I went all out for the birthday party-it was his first birthday so we made a huge deal out of it. I said from 2-5 birthday parties weren’t going to be a big deal, but I think they still will be.
So, for the party, I have a lot of ideas that I would like to incorporate into the party. (Most of these idea’s I found online, so if possible, I will link back to the site I found it on.)
Take a regular hoodie, sew spikes onto it and make it dino-ish. The only problem that I have with this is that I live in Arizona and my sons birthday is in August-when it’s 120 degrees outside. So, I’ve been looking online for hooded tank tops or even hooded t-shirts, and have yet to find anything-when I find something it’s too small, or it’s made out of fleece. So, to solve this problem I’ve found
Toddler Hoodie Tutorial
This mom used an old t-shirt from her husband and turned it into a hoodie for her son. Again because of the heat out here, I’ll probably make this without sleeves. I really hope that it turns out.
These dinosaur tails are super cute. I found a mom who made these for her kids birthday party-she made 13-15 of them and didn’t even spend $25 on materials. Then she bought dino masks off of oriental trading company and let them dress up as dinosaurs and take home the mask and tail for the party favor. I don’t know how many of these I would have-if I’d make one for each kid, or if I would make three for the photobooth I plan on having.
So, I would like to build a photo booth out of PVC pipe for the party and just have it set up in the backyard for pictures. Go to Joanns or Michaels and get some fabric, iron it, maybe hem it up and use it as the backdrop. Seems easy enough.
